agony
Agony is like when you have a big, big ouch in your heart or body. Imagine you are playing outside and you fall down and hurt your knee. The feeling you get when it really, really hurts and you want to cry is a bit like agony. It’s a feeling that doesn’t go away quickly and makes you feel very, very upset.
Think of agony like a storm inside you. Just like how a storm has lots of rain and wind, agony is full of lots of strong feelings. It can make you feel like you are stuck in the rain without an umbrella, feeling cold and wet. But just like how storms eventually pass, agony can get better too.
Another way to think about agony is like having a knot in your tummy. Imagine if you tied a shoelace into a big knot and it was hard to untie. Agony is like that knot, making you feel all tangled up inside. It’s a feeling that can make you feel all twisted and uncomfortable, but with time, it can loosen up and go away.
