departure
When you think of departure, it’s like when a bird flies away from its nest. The bird has a cozy home, but sometimes it needs to leave to find food or explore the world. Just like that, when people or things have a departure, they are leaving one place to go to another.
Imagine your favorite toy car on a journey. It starts in your room, but then it rolls down the hallway, through the kitchen, and finally out into the garden. That moment when the toy car leaves your room is its departure. It’s the beginning of an adventure, moving from one spot to another.
Think about a train at a station. The train is full of people and bags, ready to go on a trip. When the train starts moving away from the platform, that’s its departure. It means the train is saying goodbye to that station and heading somewhere new.
Departure can also feel like when you wave goodbye to a friend after playing together. You’re saying, ‘See you later,’ because your friend is leaving to go home. It’s a departure because they are going from being with you to being somewhere else.
