eject
Eject means to push something out quickly. Imagine a jack-in-the-box toy. When you turn the handle, the clown inside suddenly pops out. That popping out is like ejecting. It’s a surprise, and it happens fast!
Think of a toaster. When the toast is ready, it jumps up out of the toaster. The toaster is ejecting the toast so you know it’s time to eat it. That’s another way to think about ejecting.
Or picture a CD player. When you press the button, the CD tray slides out to give you the CD. The player is ejecting the CD so you can take it and listen to music somewhere else.
Even in a spaceship, if there’s an emergency, astronauts can eject from the ship to get to safety. They have special seats that shoot them out quickly. It’s like a super-fast escape hatch!
So, ejecting is all about something being pushed out or popping out quickly, often to get it out of the way or to make it ready for you to use.
