initiative
Initiative is like being the first one to start a game or a fun activity. Imagine you and your friends are at the playground, and you decide to be the first to go down the slide. That’s taking initiative! You’re not waiting for someone else to tell you it’s okay to go; you just do it because you know it’s going to be fun.
Think of initiative as being like a superhero who doesn’t wait for someone to ask for help. The superhero sees a problem, like a cat stuck in a tree, and decides to help right away. They don’t wait for someone to say, ‘Please help!’ They just know it’s the right thing to do and act on it.
Initiative can also be like being the first to color a picture without anyone telling you to do so. When you see a blank page and you pick up your crayons to make it beautiful, you’re using your initiative. You have the idea to start coloring, and you make it happen without waiting for instructions.
