period
A ‘period’ is like a secret signal that happens inside a girl’s body when she’s growing up. Every month, her body gets ready to take care of a tiny baby, even if there’s no baby there yet. So, her body builds a soft, cozy nest inside her tummy, called the uterus. When there’s no baby, the body doesn’t need the nest, so it gently lets it go. This is what we call a period, and it’s like the body’s way of saying, ‘Not this month!’
Think of a period like a monthly clean-up party inside the body. The body is like a house, and every month it decorates a special room, but when it finds out no guests are coming, it tidies up and starts fresh for next time. This clean-up can make some girls feel a bit tired or grumpy, kind of like when you have to clean your room and really don’t feel like it!
Or, imagine the body is a garden. Every month, it plants seeds and waters them, hoping for flowers. If no flowers bloom, it clears the garden to try again next month. This clearing is the period, and it helps the body stay healthy and ready for new beginnings.
