reflect
When you reflect something, it’s like being a mirror. Imagine when you look into a mirror, you see your face staring back at you. The mirror doesn’t keep your face; it just shows it back to you. That’s what reflecting does! It shows things back the way they are.
Think of a shiny pond. When the sun shines on the pond, you can see the sky and clouds on the water. The pond isn’t the sky, but it shows the sky’s picture. That’s because the water reflects the sky.
Sometimes, when you play with a flashlight and point it at a shiny surface like a tin can, the light bounces off and shines somewhere else. This bouncing of light is called reflection. It’s like a game of catch, where the light is the ball being tossed around.
Reflecting is also like a copy machine. When you put a paper in and press the button, it makes a copy that looks just the same. But the copy machine doesn’t keep the paper; it just makes sure the paper looks the same on the copy. That’s a bit like how reflecting works too.
