scream
A scream is like when your favorite cartoon character suddenly sees a big, scary monster and their voice gets really loud and high. It’s a sound that comes out when someone is super surprised or scared, like a fire alarm going off in your house when there’s smoke. Sometimes people scream when they are really excited, like when you see a giant ice cream cone that’s bigger than your head! It’s a way for your body to say ‘Wow!’ or ‘Yikes!’ really loudly.
Think of a scream like a whistle from a teapot. When the water inside gets really hot and bubbly, the teapot whistles loudly to let you know it’s ready. Similarly, when someone has a lot of feelings bubbling up inside, they might scream to let those feelings out.
A scream can also be like a superhero’s signal. When someone is in trouble or needs help, they might scream so that others know they need assistance, just like Batman uses a spotlight in the sky to know when he needs to save the day. Screaming is just one way people show strong emotions, like fear, excitement, or even joy.
