steep
Steep is like a big slide at the playground. When you look at the slide, it goes down very quickly, making it fast and exciting to go down. If something is steep, it means it goes up or down very sharply. Imagine trying to walk up a hill that is very steep, it would be like trying to climb the slide backward. It can be hard because the hill is almost like a wall.
Think of a steep hill as a ramp for toy cars. If you place a car at the top, it zooms down super fast because the hill is so steep. The steeper the hill, the quicker the car goes. This is because steep things have a big change in height over a short distance.
In a cup of tea, when you put a tea bag in hot water, you let it sit for a while. This is also called steeping. The tea bag is like a sponge soaking up the water, and the water is getting all the yummy flavors from the tea leaves. So, steep can mean something is very slanted, like a slide, or it can be about soaking things to get flavors, like making tea.
